Since the debut of Dr. Knowlton's PEG procedures in 1992, numerous surgeons across the United States have incorporated the techniques into their practice. Here is what some of them have to say:

"With Dr. Knowlton's Peg Procedures, I think the standard mastectomy scar will no longer be done. It's the closest thing to the end of the mastectomy scar as we know it."

-- Hilton Becker, M.D., Breast Reconstruction Expert, Boca Raton, FL

Dr. Hilton Becker is regarded by many as a breast reconstruction expert. In 1989, Good Housekeeping magazine declared him "one of America's top breast cancer reconstructive surgeons." He is a frequent presenter at national and international physician meetings on the topic of breast reconstruction and the use of tissue expanders following reconstruction. He is also the inventor of the Becker adjustable breast implant.

Dr. Becker received his medical degree from the University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa. He completed his general surgery residency in Johannesburg and was elected as a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh, Scotland. He completed plastic surgery residencies in Johannesburg and at the Medical College of Virginia. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Plastic Surgery and maintains a private practice in Boca Raton, Florida.

"I have utilized Dr. Knowlton's Latissimus Dorsi Peg Procedure for immediate breast reconstruction over the past two years and have found the results to be better than any other procedure, with patient satisfaction very high and complications minimal. When a proper skin-sparing mastectomy is employed by the general surgeon, the Peg Procedure predictably yields spectacular results."

-- Dexter W. Blome, M.D.

Dexter W. Blome, M.D., Ph.D. has a successful plastic and reconstructive surgery practice in Columbus, Ohio, where he moved after completing an aesthetic surgery fellowship in Beverly Hills and Santa Monica, California. Dr. Blome is double-boarded in otolaryngology (head and neck surgery) and plastic and reconstructive surgery. In his current practice, his specialization is in aesthetic surgery and breast surgery.

"I truly believe that the Peg Procedure is now the gold standard of breast reconstruction."

-- Paul E. Chasan, M.D.

He completed his general surgical residency at the University of California, San Diego Medical Center and his plastic surgery residency at the University of Utah Medical Center in Salt Lake City.
